TEN REASONS OF FAILURE :

1) Corporate Planning is not integrated into the Total Management System.

2) Planning is not systematic; there is a lack of understanding of the different dimensions of Planning.

3) Management at all levels is not engaged in, or involved in Planning.

4) Responsibilities for Planning is vested solely on Planning Departments.

5) Management assumes that because, it is planned, it’s going to work.

6) Too much is attempted at one time.

7) Extrapolation & Financial Planning are confused with Planning.

8) Inadequate information inputs are used.

9) Too much emphasis is placed on any single aspect of Planning.

10) Management plans its work, but fails to work its plan.
